Every year a new framework appears promising to replace the previous generation, yet React continues to strengthen its position as the foundation for modern development and react applications.
At JAS Digital, we’ve been reviewing our own technology strategy over the last quarter as we continue building larger SaaS platforms, AI-powered systems and enterprise applications. Rather than moving away from React, we’re investing even further into it.
Here’s why.
React Has Matured
React is no longer “the new JavaScript framework.”
It has become the standard platform for building scalable user interfaces across web, desktop and mobile applications.
Today React powers everything from startup MVPs through to products used by billions of people every day.
More importantly, React itself has matured significantly.
The current React 19 release isn’t about adding flashy features. Instead, the React team has focused on improving developer experience, performance, rendering efficiency and simplifying application architecture. React 19.2 is now the latest stable release, with ongoing refinements centred around performance, React Server Components and the React Compiler.
The Biggest Shift Isn’t React…
It’s Where Your Code Runs.
Five years ago, frontend applications were largely responsible for everything.
Today that’s changing.
Modern React applications increasingly separate:

The React ecosystem has become dramatically more productive.

React Compiler is also becoming increasingly important. Rather than developers manually optimising components with useMemo, useCallback and other performance techniques, the compiler increasingly performs these optimisations automatically, reducing complexity while improving runtime performance.
That allows developers to spend more time solving business problems instead of framework problems.
React + AI Is Where Things Get Interesting
One of the biggest reasons we’re investing in React isn’t React itself.
It’s AI.
Most modern AI products are interactive by nature.

These experiences demand highly responsive user interfaces.
React remains one of the best platforms for building these experiences.
Many of the AI systems we’re currently developing combine React on the frontend with Laravel APIs, background workers, vector databases and large language models to create applications that feel increasingly conversational rather than transactional.
